Definition of lung cancer

Lung Cancer is also known as Bronchogenic carcinoma.

Lung Cancer is that type of Cancer that forms in tissues of the lungs, usually in the
cells lining air passages. The two main types are small cell lung cancer and non-small
cell lung cancer. These types are diagnosed based on how the cells look under a
microscopic examination.

Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world. It is a leading cancer in
men and women in the United States. Cigarette smoking, tobacco use, is the leading
cause of most lung cancers. The more cigarettes one smoke per day and the earlier
one started smoking has a direct impact on the risk of getting lung cancer. High levels
of pollution, radiation and asbestos exposure may also increase risk of one getting it.

Tobacco use is the single largest preventable cause of cancer in the world. Tobacco
use causes cancer of the lung, throat, mouth, pancreas, bladder, stomach, liver,
kidney and other types; Environmental tobacco smoke (which is often known as
passive smoking) causes lung cancer.(
Father, I pray that you remove the desire of
tobacco and cigarettes from your people O Lord. I pray for a spirit of obedience to all
those that have been advised not to take tobacco. God, those Lung cancer patients,
God have mercy on each one of them and arise on their behalf O lord in Jesus Name
we pray, Amen.)

There are many types of lung cancer. Each type of lung cancer grows and spreads in
different ways and is treated differently. Treatment also depends on the stage, or how
advanced it is. Treatment may include chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. Research
shows that one-fifth of cancers worldwide are due to chronic infections, mainly from
hepatitis B viruses.

The main types of cancer leading to overall cancer mortality are:-

Among men: lung, stomach, liver, colorectal, esophagus and prostate. Among women:
breast, lung, stomach, colorectal and cervical.

Another vital statistic is that 40% of cancer can be prevented. This can be through
healthy diets, physical activities and most of all, not using tobacco.

Some common symptoms of lung cancer are:-

A cough that doesn't go away and gets worse over time; Constant chest pain,
coughing up blood, Shortness of breath, wheezing, or hoarseness, repeated problems
with pneumonia or bronchitis, swelling of the neck and face, loss of appetite or weight
loss and fatigue.

Prayer

Loving God, we pray this day for all those that are suffering from Lung Cancer. Loving
God touch each on of them, remove the pain that they are experiencing this day. God
please intervene and heal them in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Gracious Lord, I remember every family of these cancer patients, Lord touch them,
strengthen them with strength that only comes from you. Meet their needs and show
yourself gracious on their behalf in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. Bless the doctors, the
care givers, the nurses, the family members and all those that are attending to them.
Thank you Lord in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Father, please touch all those that are in a state of despair, God heal and save their
souls and grant them hope. Touch parents, touch children, touch brothers and sisters,
touch spouses and friends of all those affected.

God, you say in your word, "call unto me and I will answer" Jeremiah 33:3, please hear
our call this day. We are asking that you touch all those cancer patients experiencing
pain this day. Ease it, remove it and set them free. God, You are the God of all flesh "is
there anything too hard for you?" Jeremiah 32:27. We know that Lord, with us, things
may seem impossible, but with You "nothing is impossible". Thank You for hearing us
and answering us. We pray all this in Jesus Name, Amen.
